WEAKNESS OF THE ARTICLES OF CONFERDERATION

Confederation Congress had no way to tax the states.

Each state had only one vote, regardless of size.

Nine of the thirteen states had to approve each law.

The Congress had no way to enforce laws that were passed.

Confederation Congress had no power to regulate foreign or interstate trade.

Amending the Articles required a unanimous vote of the states.

No judiciary or excutive branch.


Great Compromise

The Great Compromise came when the Confederation didn't work out. The Great Compromise has set up the goverment that we have today.The House of Representatives, members were elected every two years. The number of representatives depened on the population. The president was given veto power over laws paddes by Congress. Congress coul override the veto by a 2/3 majority. William R. Davie woas on teh comitte that came up with the Great Compromise.
